Approaching the Infinite

“Approaching the Infinite” was inspired by a tile pattern, that when extended would be come a fractal. And we all know how much I love fractals.

Then the tiles and pattern went around the corner and as I was visualizing how it would work with the fractal, I knew I needed to stretch the elements to accommodate the additional generations and I kept stretching each generation to accommodate the next generation, but each layer impacted all previous layers.

But when I multiplied by the infinite then that problem was solved!

I managed to include eleven generations of a fractal in this art piece–the last generation is so small you can’t see it with your naked eye, but you can feel the ridges of it with your finger.

This piece is 12″ by 18″ stainless steel.
